Our report card.

We continually assess our own progress in achieving our mission. And while our vision is, by definition, something we’ll always strive to attain, our work has a measurable impact in our community. Here are a few statistics that highlight the success of Rainier Scholars.

  • To date, Cohorts I, II and III scholars have a 100% high school graduation and college admissions rate
  • 95% of our scholars achieve placement in public school advanced learning programs or independent school college prep settings
  • More than 85% of our LD students report an increase in leadership activities in school and community during their high school years
  • The cumulative Grade Point Average of high school students in our program is 3.21
  • 100% of scholars who complete the 14-month academic phase demonstrate a significant improvement in reading and math skills

Currently in the 2011-12 school year:

  • There are 430 students of color and their families participating in the Rainier Scholars program
  • 80% of families served are low-income
  • 85% of students served come from households without a college degree

Measurable Rainier Scholars Program Outcomes by Phase:

 

14-Month Academic Enrichment Phase (6th grade) 

  • Build a community of support for high achieving students of color
  • Prepare students for academic rigor in college track programs 
  • Achieve 80% retention of scholars completing  the 14 Month phase
  • Achieve 90% placement in advanced learning programs or independent schools 

Academic Counseling and Support Services (7th - 9th grades)  

  • Maintain high levels of student achievement as measured through GPA
  • Achieve 90% scholar retention
  • Achieve 90% placement in High School college track programs
  • Nurture community engagement across cohorts
  • Provide opportunities for family engagement

Leadership Development (10th - 12th grades) 

  • Prepare students for college success as measured through college prep benchmarks
  • Enhance leadership skills and increase participation levels in leadership activities in school and community
  • Increase skills for professional workplace success
  • Achieve College admissions

College Support Services  

  • Achieve college graduation for 100% of scholars who enroll in college
  • Facilitate professional networking and career development opportunities through internships and workplace mentoring
  • Encourage leadership development in all capacities of campus life
