Our second virtual Career Expo was a hit, with over 80 high school and college scholars joining for two days of career exploration, interactive workshops, and live (virtual) professional networking, sponsored by Russell Investments.
This year’s event included six career pathway panels moderated by RS alumni, with panelists representing different industries and disciplines. A range of exploratory and skills-based workshops were offered: identifying your interests & passions, financial planning, salary negotiation & professional advancement, technical interviewing, entering the workforce as a BIPOC/First Gen college student, and identity & authenticity at work.
We also held our first-ever virtual networking event, with RS Executive Director Rafael del Castillo and keynote speaker Susan Long- Walsh emphasizing the importance of cultivating and utilizing LinkedIn and your network – including the Rainier Scholars network.
We are grateful to the presenters, partners and alumni who shared their insights to support our scholars.
