Volunteers play a key role in helping us cultivate the academic potential and leadership skills of hard-working, low-income students of color. Our goal is to provide meaningful opportunities to those who generously invest their time, talent and expertise in Rainier Scholars to strengthen our community.
We offer a few volunteer opportunities for both individuals and groups. We encourage group volunteers to come in teams from companies/organizations.

Spirit of 12 Partner Program
We are proud to be a Spirit of 12 Partner, an incredible opportunity provided by the Seattle Seahawks and Paul G. Allen Philanthropies. This partnership allows us to deepen our connections in the community, gain visibility and receive financial support to further our mission.
At two 2019 home football games this season, August 29th and the home opener (!) on September 8th – hundreds of scholars, alumni, families, corporate partners, staff and community supporters—will work as one to distribute Seahawks Gameday Magazines. 200% of the proceeds will benefit Rainier Scholars.
As fifth year Spirit of 12 Partners, this is Rainier Scholars’ last season as a partner, at least for the next few years. SO DON’T MISS IT! See flyer for more details on rallying a cart team.
Calling all corporate partners and community supporters, Rainier Scholars staff, scholars, families and alumni volunteers!
Our hope is to assign each volunteer at least one gameday opportunity. Spots are limited, so apply online or complete the Volunteer Application Form. We will notify volunteers of assignments by email approximately two weeks before gameday.
For more information, email Erika Quan, Events and Volunteer Manager, or call (206) 838-6678.
College care packages
Each November, volunteers assemble and send care packages to our college students. It is a great way to connect with a scholar and provide a much-needed boost during final exam time. We especially enjoy matching volunteers with scholars who attend their alma maters.
To sign up to be a care package volunteer, email Fred Capestany, Director of College Support or call (206) 407-2148.
